Player Analysis

Player analysis with video is a critical medium in developing advanced and elite athletes. On-field play captured with video, allows our staff to provide objective, constructive, and quite helpful analysis of your athlete's on-field ability. The pressures faced on the field in game-time environments are hard to replicate during practice sessions. Stress and challenges produce different results in many athletes, causing them to make decisions either without cause, or it tends to slow down their decision making ability. Either one of these will prove to be detrimental to both their individual play as well as their team performance.

Objectivity

Good coaching relies on objectivity. Video review footage can help coaches accentuate the positives and negatives of the game without bias. Professional feedback is provided to players and parents that is based on concrete visual data.

Perspective

Players tend to switch off the further they get away from the ball. There can be a similar cognitive load on players when they’re involved, but players' concentration levels can fluctuate
Certain positions get a different view of the game compared to others. Video allows them to see opportunities and space around the breakdown they might not have seen in the game.
Likewise, it allows forwards to see opportunities in the backfield they might not have noticed.
Players start recognizing opportunities for breaks on-field the more they recognize opportunities that arise from the video. Individuals may just need a moment where they're not as cognitively involved to get that aha moment and see other options.

Injury Prevention

Another massive advantage of using sports video analysis is injury prevention. We can analyze movement and position in videos, which can aid in identifying techniques that can cause pain and injury. If we can see and correct injury-prone behaviors, while coaching new techniques that fix bad habits, there is no reason your athlete cannot improve their fitness and performance, and prevent injuries.

STIMULATED RECALL

Stimulated recall is a research method that allows the investigation of cognitive processes by inviting athletes to recall their concurrent thinking during a game/match or practice when supported by a video session or sequence.
For our methods, it’s basically the term for using player-provided video to recall something that happened in a game/match or practice session.
As you would probably agree, no player or coach will recall 100% of everything that occurred during a game/match or practice. No matter what length of time takes place between the event and the recall timeline.

How We Work

We ask players to recall the game as they remember it, without watching the video first. Providing us with this detailed recall in a voice recording, our analytics coach will match the recall to the video provided to see what sort of recall and accuracy the player has with regards to the match or practice.
